About Us

What Drives Us

Alphind healthcare is a Whole Person Care Intelligence company employing a unique blend of focus, empathy, and pragmatism to fundamentally reimagine the healthcare landscape.

From where we stand, it's not just about technology; that’s merely a means to an end. What sets us apart is a unique blend of focus, empathy, and pragmatism in elevating our healthcare vision to Whole Person Care Intelligence.

That vision is what compels us to address crucial gaps in health equity and to maximize the benefits we deliver to our clients, whether payors, providers, or individuals. We empathize with their healthcare experiences and envision ways to disrupt the current state for the better, through bold incremental changes. We believe this empathetic approach will be crucial as the lines between the parties in the healthcare ecosystem blur further.

That’s also where our pragmatism comes in. We equip our clients with the means to gain profound insights into individuals' health and wellness, paving the way for truly predictive and preventive care strategies that provide lasting, cumulative value. And we understand that we must give it time.

Pamela Shipman

A nationally renowned avid proponent of person centered supports and empowerment Pam brings to Alphind healthcare over four decades of experience in strategic leadership, innovation management, and ecosystem collaboration across the public and private sectors designed to serve special needs populations the Whole Person Care way.

Prior to joining Alphind’s Advisors, Pam served as Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer & Legislative Liaison for Monarch of North Carolina, serving nearly 30,000 individuals with I/DD, mental illness and substance use disorders across 177 sites and residential care in 97 counties.

As COO, then CEO of Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions, a North Carolina public authority, that became a public managed care organization Pam led 4X revenue growth to $650M under a Medicaid capitated waiver pilot and 3X population growth to a general population of 2.4M individuals, many which were disadvantaged by poverty, disability, mental health and substance use conditions. She successfully led Cardinal through cyclical policy changes, including the HITECH Act of 2009 and the Affordable Care Act of 2010 that disrupted the US healthcare landscape, drove enormous achievements in technology, and an ever-changing business environment of unprecedented proportions.

Pam played a key role in transforming North Carolina’s centralized management of the Medicaid service delivery system by designing and leading the implementation of the State’s first Medicaid Managed Care Waiver. This model, while modified is still in use today. And she drove collaboration with Physician-directed Primary Care to achieve individualized whole person care state-wide.

Currently, Pam volunteers with the NC Direct Support Professionals Workgroup, a community-based organization that envisions, inspires, and improves the care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) at home.

Pam earned her master’s degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
